The competitions and their categories are still under debate for 2014 and should be announced in May 2014.
In 2013 there were shows for sheep and terriers, and an industrial marquee housing the competitions for children and adults which happened to feature something of a “Royal Baby” theme! There was also an excellent competition for traditionally dressed sticks. Entries often have to be submitted before the actual show date so competitors do need to obtain details beforehand from the section leaders listed on the Contact Us page of this website. Industrial competition forms are distributed via local newsagents, schools and are available at The Gate public house usually from mid-June onwards.
On the day, though, there are also always lots of fun and competitive activities for children and their accompanying dogs. The Children’s Races and Novelty Dog competitions are open to all entrants on the field with a rosette for everyone competing.
The new Open Mic competition for 2013 was for budding and established musicians who were free to just turn up and sign in for it on the day!
The Fair usually concludes with our ever popular and very exciting terrier races, organised by the Terrier Show section.
