There will be shows for sheep and terriers, and an Industrial marquee housing the competitions for children and adults. There is also an excellent competition for dressed sticks. On the field, lots of competitive activities for children and for dogs. The day usually finishes with the ever popular terrier races.

- The dog with the most appealing eyes
- Best child handler under twelve years old
- The best pedigree dog
- New Special Class for the best dog and child in joint fancy dress (child under twelve years old)
There will be a Simonside Country Fair rosette for every entrant – and a special pocket money prize of £10 for the best entrant in class #5 our new Special Joint Fancy Dress Class.
This year there are some extra special themes for several classes within the Industrial Competition – the Royal Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics! The popular annual Families Class challenges families to work together to create Jubilee Scarecrow exhibits. There will be a special Scarecrow paddock on the main field to house them. Let's hope they don't frighten the sheep!
